Happy Monday! (That just doesn’t sound right does it? Ugh.)
Anyway, I had to share this very touching video of someone who is important and special to me. Meet Cecelia Kearney-Lopez, my younger cousin. At the age of 13 months, Cecelia was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. After a tough fight, she beat cancer and is now in remission. Yay!
Now, at the age of 12, Cecelia has recently started a new business, Cil’s Amazing Duct Tape Creations. She makes purses, pens, lanyards, wallets, laptop cases – all from duct tape. She began taking orders and has tons of them coming in. But here’s the best part – she plans on using the money she makes to buy toys and games for kids with cancer and donate them to the hospital where she was staying when she was battling cancer.
It’s stories like these that make you step back and realize how important it is to think of others and help them out in any way you can. If Cecelia can fight cancer as a child and survive, then want to give back to the children who are going through the same thing she did is a very touching story. Cecelia was an inspiration to all of us for battling cancer and winning – but what she’s doing today just solidifies how much of an inspiration she truly is.
Watch the video the local TV station is Cecelia’s hometown did on her. Enjoy! 🙂
